Sometimes, our nervous system feels out of sync for longer periods. This dysregulation can show up as chronic anxiety, irritability, or difficulty sleeping. Regulating a dysregulated nervous system takes patience and consistent care.
Here are some steps that have helped me and many others:
Create a routine: Regular sleep, meals, and self-care rituals provide stability.
Limit stimulants: Reducing caffeine, loud noises, and screen time can prevent overstimulation.
Practice self-compassion: Be kind to yourself, treat yourself with the tender care you would give to a friend.
Seek professional support: Therapists and counselors can guide you through personalized strategies.
Engage in social connection: Positive relationships help regulate your nervous system naturally.
Remember, healing is a journey. It’s okay to take small steps. Consistent and intention practice will bring incremental change!
